With regard to Warminster, Shuttlewood was the main proponent
as well as being a leading writer for the local newspaper. It could
be argued in this instance that this 'flap' took off as a direct result
of (his) media coverage.

This coverage also directly influenced the start of the crop circles
'phenomenon' in the immediate area some years later, btw.
