Subject: French UFO Author Paul Misraki Dies

Hello List!

It should not be me, but our French colleagues, to spread this
information, but either nobody noticed it or any mention of it
did escape from my attention, so here I am.

According to a short news item published in Turin daily "La
Stampa" on November 1st, French musician and composer Paul
Misraki (real name: Paul Misrachi) died in his Paris home on
October 31st, at the age of 90.

He was most known as a piano-man in Ray Ventura's orchestra,
back in the '30s, and later as a talented song-writer for Edith
Piaf, Yves Montand and Juliette Greco. His most famous song was
"Tout va tres bien, Madame la marquise". He also wrote music for
the cinema (movies directed by Orson Welles, Roger Vadim,
claude Chabrol, Luis Bunuel).

Now you may ask: "What has it all to do with UFOs?".

A less known fact is that Paul Misraki was a passionate student
of UFOs and an appreciated author of books about that subject.

He did not dare to put his name on the cover of the first one,
"Les extraterrestres" (The extraterrestrials), published by
Plon, Paris, in 1962 under the nom-de-plume of Paul Thomas (also
translated in English by Spearman, London, in 1965, with the
title "Flying Saucers Through the Ages").

That book made him an early promoter of the ancient astronauts
thesis, mainly referring to the Bible for plenty of examples. It
was also the very first book to suggest that the Fatima "sun
miracle" and BVM apparitions might have been due to UFO
phenomena.

He finally dropped his pseudonym and consented that the second
edition of his book (published in 1968) and a revised, largely
updated third edition (in 1978) of his book be published with
the new title "Des signes dans le ciel" (Signs In The Sky)
under his name of Paul Misraki.

Best regards
