Dear Stig and list.

I could read the entire Fleming text on the first URL given
above. The second site is indeed inoperative, quite possibly
by its owner, Fleming himself.

Yes, there is a little logo ( I couldn't pull in the image ).
When I clicked on it, it tried to call up the national DIA
website, true. It is also true that any kid can do that.

I could post the same web page in about 10 minutes,
complete with a link to the Pope in Rome if I chose.

Does anyone think the DIA would a) silence this guy -and-
b) leave their calling card on his website? If so, I have a
nice bridge for sale.

As for the "National Intelligence Service", I did a Yahoo
web search for that exact phrase and spelling. I got 165
websites to choose from.

It seems there are NISes all over the world. Variously
spelled or phrased in their native languages, I found them
in South Korea ( many listings ), Bulgaria, Albania,
Peru ( the acronym in Peru is SIN! ) In Brazil ( SNI ),
in Greece, in Turkey and Haiti ( NIS ) etc.

One Canadian listing turned out to be in reference to the
(former?) South African NIS.

The one country conspicuously missing is the USA.

That seems odd. Anyone can call up the CIA website,
the DIA, FBI .. even the NSA website ( which is worth a
nice visit. They offer a fairly decent benefits package )

If there is an NIS in the USA its pretty darn quiet indeed!
Maybe its 57 levels of security above Top Secret.

I think a far more inexpensive and obvious hypothesis
suggests itself .. pure humbug.

Best wishes

- Larry Hatch
