Hello all... Below is the copy that went out this morning to the official ELFIS e-list, announcing that ELFIS Issue Nine is now online! Thanks to all of you who have signed on to participate in Researcher Dialogue. Check the new department out when you cruise the New ELFIS, and bask in the glow...those of you who haven't gotten your responses to us, get them to us when you can, and we'll add them as we get them...your space is reserved! The site has been tested as best we could before we uploaded; if you find any glitches, please e-mail us and we'll fix it! Again, many thanks to all of you! Onward to a new era! Sincerely, Byron M. Beyer Senior Editor E.L.F. Infested Spaces 4/30/99 ------------------------------------------ The NEW ELFIS LIVES!! This is the beginning of the Third Volume of E.L.F. Infested Spaces-Journal of Possible Paradigms. From its inception in 1994, I foresaw a time when ELFIS would make its transition to this world wide web of synchronistic data flow. It took four years and many near-death experiences for ELFIS to finally get here. Once here, the struggle for timely publication was increased, but the rewards have been, shall we say, startling. With this third volume (about mid-way through this Ninth Issue) we will again return to our original subscription-driven format. Details soon. Many of our original off-line subscribers have already received their Founder Packages, and the response has been enthusiastic! When you surf the new ELFIS, be sure to use the URL <www.elfis.net/>, since this will take you directly to our new Entry Portal. Once you're there, you can check out our new interface, and cruise through all the departments. Check out the WELCOME page <www.elfisnnet/welcome.htm> and the Navigation <www.elfis.net/nav.htm> pages first, since there are handy hints on how to best get around our new interface. Also, visit Rants And Reviews <www.elfis.net/RnR/index.htm> with new features by W. Ritche Benedict, HArv Howard and Steve Mizrach. And, finally, don't forget to visit our brand new department, Researcher Dialogue <www.elfis.net/RD/index.htm> (more about that in a minute!), and, of course, pay a visit to the intrepid Mr. Baggins at his new digs, the refurbished Mr. Baggins' Corner <www.elfis.net/BagEnd/index.htm>. By far the biggest news this installment is the appointment of the new ELFIS Senior Editor, Byron M. Beyer. The new look of ELFIS has Byron written all over it. I really dig the new look, and since he and I have worked together on this, I can honestly tell you that it's gonna look even better real soon. All the bells and whistles. And for those of you who don't give a rat's ass about that fancy bell-and-whistle kinda stuff,(all you "meat and potatoes" folks), ELFIS has a brand new Department that's sure to please: Researcher Dialogue. Every issue we'll "pick the brains" of the most original thinkers in the field for their opinion on a pertinent topic. Be sure to check out the great responses to our Researcher Dialogue department's first topic, concerning UFOs and media. We've got bits and bytes from Jim Keith, Eugenia Macer-Story, Peter Stenshoel of the Excluded Middle magazine, and many, many more. Have fun cruising the New ELFIS! Tune in next week when Our Hero zaps an email notice from the Otherworld Reality consciousness conference in London. Gotta catch that plane! See ya in the DreamTime... SMiles ps-if ya wanna email me in London zap me at ElfisSmiles@yahoo.com
