Flashing Lights Herald Santa Twas the night before Christmas and all throughout the land not a creature was stirring - except for a pulsating red, green and white light, zigzagging throughout the northern Goldfeilds sky. Security officers at the Murrin Murrin (sic!) nickel project filed an unusual report after they watched the light for about half an hour on Christmas eve. The object, which appeared to be a bright star, was first seen at 7.50pm low on the western horizon. The security officers said in their report that, the star began to pulsate red and green and white and traveling up and down in sudden jerking movements, with the red and green lights becoming more vivid. It then sank lower and zigzagged from side to side before emitting a burst of white light and disappearing below the tree line. David Smith, of Murrin Murrin, said the officers spent half an hour watching the area where the object disappeared, but nothing reappeared. He said the object was traveling too quickly to be a conventional aircraft.
