My pathetic contribution to this pathetic excuse for
intellectual discourse follows. Listening to list members argue
about Richard Hoagland and his 'data' conjures visions of
absurdity threatening the rational mind with self-implosion.
It's analogous to hearing two self appointed scientists
discussing, with grave seriousness, the flight worthiness of
Santa's sleigh, with or without Rudolph. In all fairness, Art
Bell is an entertainer, nothing more, nothing less. Richard
Hoagland, however, is...(opinion self-censored by author)

Personal attacks are frowned upon in these forums for public
discussion, and I will try to refrain from them here. The
simple fact of the matter is that Richard Hoagland suffers from
paranoid delusions, involving conspiracies and imaginary
happenings which run unchecked through an ego unbounded. To be
fair, I have purchased and watched a number of Hoagland's videos
which document and serve proof positive for my previous
statement. I have purchased his book and digested it with more
than just a little bit of gastronomical distress. I have given
an objective look at the Mars data, including the more sane
commentary by the likes of Stanley McDaniel. However, a pile of
rocks ultimately turns out to be just that, a pile of rocks.

To waste any more intellectual energy on this man is rather
missing the point. I would gladly contribute a significant
portion of my personal UFO/anomaly budget to fund some sort of
intervention program to help Hoagland better deal with his
reality integration problems.

I know the new millennium is upon us, and we can look forward to
a year of hype, hysteria, and general insanity, much of it to be
fueled by the likes of Bell/Hoagland/religious fanatics, etc.
but is it too much to hope that the voice of reason might cut
through this shrill hysteria on occasion?
