Subject: 'Junk' Or What?

Hello everyone,

I'm new to this List having been reading it for a month or so
now. I'm a Finnish but right now living in the UK because of

I've been interested in this field almost since my childhood
because of my own experiences. And also because I know quite few
people that have also experiences of UFOs. I'm not going to
discuss those in this mail, but since I noticed that
there's seem to be quite a few professionals following this
List, somebody might be able to help me.

This might not have anything to do with any extra-terrestial
objects, but I just would like to know little bit more about

Since I'm couple of thousands of kms from home I have to rely on
my memory on this. i.e. information is not exact. But anyway,
I'm not trying to do science here. Ok here we go..

Basicly I'm after the origin of this object.

If I remember correctly this happened sometime during 70's
(maybe before I was born, heh). This I have to confirm since I
wasn't witnessing this myself.

Approx. 300m from my home is an elementary school.

One winter morning, the guy who's taking care of the buildings
and the yards, found something quite interesting quite close to
the school building. There was a heavy snow layer on the ground
and this thing had melted all the snow around it. And the
remaining snow around was colored yellowish. Must have been
quite hot if you ask me.

This object consists (to my recollection) of 3X4 pieces of
metallic ingot-shaped pieces. Each piece has dimension apx.
length 7cm, width 3cm, height 2cm. These are not exact. This
material is very heavy and I think one piece must weight 1kg
[2.2lbs] at least. This I haven't measured.

To me the material resembles quite clearly lead. The bottom of
the object is even and contained some symbols and numbers. at
least one symbol I remember is a three circles grouped somehow
that they cross each others. I can't remember very clearly but
I'm almost certain that number 3 was also in the bottom. These
number(s) and symbols were pressed to the bottom of the object
and were not found elsewhere.

The sad thing is that these ingots were separated by the finder
because of their weight and were used to keep his Xmas tree

Anyway I am able to get more precise information, but if someone
already knows what the origin might be could mail it to me or to
the list.

Very clearly object had arrived through aerial route.

I'm not sure how heavy components are used in the (or were used)
stuff we're shooting to the sky. Just the weight of the object
makes me wonder. Because of the heat I suspect it's just space
junk, but because it is (or was) so nicely intact, somehow I
might be able to find out it's origin.

I still have couple of the separated ingots. Any ideas and/or
questions are welcome.

That's it, I'm sure I'm forgetting many things but that's best I
can do at the moment.. Keep up the good list mates, it is
interesting to follow. Just waste less energy to argue who's pro
and who's not :) Thanks for taking the time to read this,
apologies for my english. Keep up the good work!

Best wishes,

Mikko Viitaniemi
