Subject: Loren Gross' Histories

Greeting List,

Loren Gross' works on UFOs are not generally available. I echo
Bob Girard's comments, "This is the single most important work
every done on UFOs. This series of books is ten times better
than the next nearest work."

Re-entitled 'The Fifth Horseman of the Apocalypse' after Dr.
Lincoln LaPaz's enigmatically statement about UFOs, the series
of approximately 100-page-booklets is now up to 44 volumes with
the last book dealing with the middle of 1958.

Girard still has a few booklets from the 1947 to 1951 era, but
no longer has them all:

'Charles Fort, The Fortean Society, and UFOs' is available from
my address below for $6.00 post paid anywhere in the world.
This last is a very early work, nearly 14 years old.

Girard attempted to publish the later volumes in the series.
The amount of interest was almost nil. Girard and I both wish
to get these books published and made available to a wider

Project 1947 is a volunteer effort. Candy Peterson has
volunteered to place a number of these volumes on the computer.
Due to her efforts we have the 1947 volume and most of the 1957
volumes (10 in all) on computer word processing files. Candy
has really render an important service here. Loren uses a
typewriter to turn out these wonderful volumes. (The discovery
of huge amounts of new material for 1957 meant that revisions
are necessary.) Loren wants to revise his early volumes, also.

There several schemes to get these things published. Perhaps
even on CDrom/DVD. What is needed is some show of support for
such a project.

Loren does not write these books for money. The writes for the
same reason that most true scholars do, to chronicle the
significant events in a subject. He sends free to a small group
of UFO researchers.
