Well...yeah, but unfortunately, from the earth's perspective,
then, the sun rotates around it.  If your wife, (as earth),
stands in the center of a room and swings you, (the moon),
around on a rope while you sit in your rolling office chair,
don't attempt to prove your original premise by keeping your
face, (the bright side of the moon), pointed in the direction of
one of the walls.  This is terribly painful, eventually
requiring a neck brace and a possible hip replacement -
depending on how determined you are.  If it doesn't feel good -
don't do it!
