There is an axiom in Spanish that goes; "Digame con quien
andas, y te digo quien eres!' Roughly translated it means;

"Tell me who you walk with, (who your friends are) and I'll
tell you who _you_ are!"

It's a "Like attracts like" reference.

If you read the entire post you know that it was just an
expression of personal opinion and did not require a response.
It wasn't intended as fuel for debate.

Geez, sounds like I 'winged' you! Something about my choice of
'metaphors' apparently resonated with you powerfully enough (hit
home) to elicit such genuine emotion from you. I never even
mentioned your name! :-D

During my wonderfully misspent youth growing up in Manhattan I
had occasion to play pool. There are times in the game when you
aim carefully because you want to sink a specific ball, and if
you 'nick' (or sink) any of the others on the table it is
referred to as a 'carom shot'.

I believe that is what happened here. The lesson for you may be:
Don't hang around with 'balls' that are situated in close
proximation to deep cavernous holes! ;-D

Your _reaction_ to my _opinion_, "has been duly noted."
(As you are so fond of saying.)
