My apologies Scott. I have a nasty habit of using other
people's messages to launch myself onto a wild rant about some
pet peeve or another.

I'm certain your motives are good ones, and I respect your
desire to publicize cults, whether they are built around UFO
beliefs or not.

One of my greatest pet peeves, in fact, is how the 'mainstream
media' went on and on about how 'nobody saw Heaven's Gate
coming.' I find this insanely infuriating in light of the fact
that 'the two' had been written about in numerous UFO books and
were even subject to a television documentary. Pretty sad.

The only positive to come out of Heaven's Gate is perhaps it
will make future warnings taken a bit more seriously. Perhaps
the next time a group of CSETI cultists go tramping about the
dark, shining flashlights into the air searching for their alien
brothers, a twinge of doubt might tickle the mind of the
disillusioned seeker.

And, lastly, my biggest pet peeve is how UFO enthusiasts either
embrace the holy brothers from outer space or, worse, simply
ignore them entirely. Blaming the US government when, by
definition, the folks in charge of the cover up are the critters
behind the controls of the spaceship.
