That should read Callair. The aircraft was a taildrager with
heavy undercarriage for rough field landings. It was however a
low wing aircraft with struts so not full cantilevered spars.
Most successful roughfield aircraft were and are high winged.
Since it had short wings the engine must have been of greater
horsepower than usual for higher-than-normal altitude work in
and around the mountains.
