Joe Firmage, vice president of strategic planning for Novell's systems group, and Toby Corey, vice president of marketing for the systems group, disclosed few details of their proposed startup, which Firmage said "will be complementary to what many of the leading software vendors are doing now." Firmage said the two are leaving Novell because their plan does not fit into the Orem, Utah, company's new, slimmed-down business model. "We're actually very pleased with the moves Novell has made, but the entrepreneurial bug has caught me again," he said. Firmage, 25, formed his first company when he was 19 years old. That company, Serius Corp., was bought by Novell in 1993 for $17 million. Copyright (c) 1995 Ziff-Davis Publishing Company. All rights reserved.
