Previously, Dave opined:

Hi Dave,

First off, I'm fairly certain there's only one "p" in crap.

Just joking.<G>

In a way, you answered your own question when you wrote:

>Start with the fact that even the military can't legally
>threaten bodily harm or death without due process.

The problem isn't what the military or government does that's
legal; those things are part of public record and can be
researched. The problem is what the military or government does
that's illegal. Those sort of things, such as CONTRA, don't
normally appear as part of the public record, but they do
happen. Do you think, per chance, that a single innocent person
wasn't killed during the CONTRA dealings? We're talking about
big money, clandestine arms running! The stakes were very high,
certainly as high as they would be concerning ET technology. In
fact, the stakes concerning ET technology might even be higher,
if it's real.

In this instance, due process is not a concern for "the powers
that be". Don't believe for a moment that just because something
is illegal that the government is going to avoid doing it if it
achieves the desired goal effectively and swiftly.

My father worked for a local TV station on the remote crew for
the better part of 45 years. He told me often how police
officers or government officials had confiscated field tapes
from his unit minutes after taping had been completed on some
story. These guys would arrive out of nowhere in the field and
descend on my dad's news truck. Sometimes a reason was given,
sometimes not. In every instance, my father was warned not to
resist.

Intimidation is a very real and effective weapon because it can
not be traced. On the other hand, I do agree that the "oath"
business gets a little old since we seem to be hearing it more
and more. It does seem that after 30 years, someone might feel
they could let their guard down. But then again, without proof
what are they going to say?

Take care,

Roger Evans
