For the last time, Michael, and this is very frustrating....

I'm not talking about the Contact video, on which I have no

You quoted an analysis of the sound heard on it. Your quote was
quite long. I commented on what you quoted. If there's something
else in the video that you think I would like better, please
type it out, as you did your last quote, so I can know what it

I'm most definitely not required to spend time and money to view
something just because you're interested in it. If you didn't
convince me to be interested, that's your problem, not mine. I
have absolutely no bias one way or another; I just read what you

I have only so much time to spend on UFOs, and I try to spend on
the things that both interest me, and make the most sense. The
Contact video hasn't yet become one of them -- which by the way
is _not_ meant as a rejection of it. Life is short, Michael. I
don't know Mahler's 7th symphony as well as I know his others, I
haven't read William Faulkner, I haven't seen the Jackson
Pollock exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art here in New York, I
haven't talked to my friend Jesse for three weeks, I haven't
heard the recent PJ Harvey album, I don't know much about the
Russian economic collapse, and I haven't tried two new
restaurants that recently opened in my neighborhood.

Maybe one of my friends will tell me I ought to read Faulkner,
quoting me some passage they love from one of his novels. Maybe
the passage won't impress me, and I'll say, "You know, I don't
like that very much." That doesn't mean I think Faulkner is a
terrible writer. It just means that my friend hasn't convinced
me to give Faulkner as high a priority as she does.

That's all that's happening here, Michael. You may think the
Contact video is very important, and maybe it is, but you
haven't convinced me. If you want me to watch it, give me better
reasons -- and, for God's sake, stop thinking this has anything
to do with any discussion of Meier you've read on this list or
anywhere else.
