Previously, Dave offered:

And just what, exactly, would you use to back up your claims,
Dave?

I can assure you, you'd find it virtually impossible to get on
any local news station, much less a network, without some kind
of proof. Based on my access to the news media, I can tell you
that people make these claims you are talking about on a regular
basis and are turned away, just as you would be.

As I stated before, the problem isn't what the government does
that we know about and can prove; it's what we don't know about
and can't prove that is the problem. Now, on balance, it would
seem a reasonable question that if we don't know about these
things then how can I support my position? Well, as I said, my
father had film and tapes confiscated MANY times over the course
of his 45 years in television news. Unless my father and the
other field engineers he worked with are lying, then I'd say
this is more than "far fetched and bordering on paranoia".

It's very real and it happens all the time which is why the
stations are not going to cooperate unless someone has iron clad
proof. A sure fire way for a station to go out of business is to
butt heads with the government without anything to back them up.
Don't forget, a station must have an FCC license and the
government is under no obligation to renew it in a timely
manner, if at all, if they do not want to. Being off the air for
only a month or two can be irreversibly devastating.

I respect you own beliefs, Dave. But I think they are based on
your own strengths as an individual, and I mean that as a
compliment. I have no doubt from the way you present your
arguments that you, genuinely, do not fear the government.

But I think you should.

Besides, paranoia is simply a heightened state of awareness.<g>

Take care,

Roger Evans
