Hi Ed...

You are correct. I did travel to Sacramento back in Sept. 1993.
Steve, I and two others spent the weekend in the foothills and
Mountains of the Sierrea Navadas.

You are correct, I did not see anything which I could not
identify. The "old Faithful" turned out to be planes taking off
from a military airfield far in the distance...I recognized this
movement from spending a lot of time around airports in
Evansville, Indiana, Nashville, Tenn. Owensboro, Lousiville, and
others. I have been fooled before by the way these lights
appear to stand still and then suddenly go out... I realized,
they were simply approaching us until the reached an altitude
where they would turn to assume their scheduled flight path.
While traveling from Indianapolis to Owensboro, at night, I
would observe these light appear and seem to hover...yet, after
about five minutes, they would appear to move again and shortly
thereafter, pass directly over me or just to my left, allowing
me a great view.<G>

As far as Steve, having friends, I do consider him a friend.
You also, although I try to stay from between the two of you. I
wish you wouldn't make replies like this on the list...it
doesn't help any of us...You know that others have skewered you
most viciously, in the past and I didn't like that either...

I know that you and Steve will never be friends. I don't expect
it. But, everything he says and does is not a lie. You know
that. I understand your feelings toward him and Joe Ball. I
understand why you feel the way you do about Rich Boylan
also...but, I don't think airing those feelings helps the UFO
field at all. We need unity here...We are on the verge of total
discreditation.

In the 50 years since the words Flying Saucers and UFOs have
been in existence in the general public, we seem to be further
from disclosure all the time. UFO Investigator/Researchers,
have been replaced by cynics and skeptibunkers...Yes, they claim
to be researchers. Yet just looking at the "attitude" which
"flows" like vinegar, demonstrates otherwise.

These peoples born since 1965 have never lived without
technology. They don't know what it is to be simi-primitive as a
society. They are "spoiled" by an overabundance of "instant
service." They don't know what it was like to wait a month to
get a reply from a fellow researcher, due to distance and the
slow mail service. Long distance phone calls were infrequent,
not an everyday occurance, as we have today via the internet and
cell phones. It was very different. You know that.

These modern peoples, have the advantage of having all of the
work done by our generation and the one before us to use as
reference books, and even then they debate whether "Kenneth
Arnold had an airplane." They are so friggin' scared of the
possibilities you and I have faced and continue to face, that
they deliberately rip the very fiber of UFOlogy to shreads and
turn history into mythology...

Yes, Ed. we need to put the past, as far as personal vendettas
go, behind us and pull together...we are the roots of
ufology...if we allow them, either by our own numbness and
coldness, or by their own intellectualism to pull us from the
ground, ufology will simply die as a serious investigative
phenomenon, and become purely folklore.

I don't want that. Do you Ed? I don't think so.

REgards, Mike
