Stig,

Thanks for posting this sorry little article, I had it with me
to OCR in today. I regret it seems to do nothing more than cloud
the issues even further. I agree completely the Tent Footage has
remained extreamly fishy since it was first "leaked". (and in a
number of "versions"!) But this explanation of it's "parentage"
seems to carry more than a wiff of our watery friends with it.

A couple of the "odd" points in this tale to think about:

If, as Ray has said in the past ALL his source material was on
16mm FILM, why would he approach a VIDEO production company with
a TAPE for enhancement??. Wouldn't he be far better served
taking the FILM to a FILM facility and work with the original
source material not even a first generation TAPE copy?

How were the hoaxers hoping their plan would hold water using
TAPE only, there seems to be no mention of what they were
planning when people started to ask "Where is the FILM", there
wern't many camcorders back in 1947!? Before anyone jumps down
MY throat with "Well Ray Santilli has never produced any!", he
DID produce "some" damaged film which WAS tested and found
consistant with the film type alledgedly used and only in
production by Kodak until the mid 1950's. There are also
problems IF the wouldbe hoaxers thought they could transfer the
VIDEO TAPE to film LATER, not only trying to find contempary
unexposed film that was still unfogged and usable (highly
unlikly), but both TV scan artifacts and/or pixelation artifacts
would undoubtably be presant from the transfer process, film
emulsions can still hold FAR greater detail than a video image,
even a 16mm film frame.

Nope, if this was set up as a serious project it just wasn't
thought through.

A poor joke?, a prank?.

Or is this story's apearance just an agenda from a "media
insider" to "repay" Ray Santilli for past (dis)services
rendered?.

As James Easton mentioned some enhanced images from the footage
are on my site listed below. As a closing comment, the section
of tape I grabbed the images from was not "very grainy" as
alledged in the article nor did the camera use any "strange
camera angles" as again mentioned in the article, the camera was
ridgedly locked off and stable in one position and didn't "jogg"
about "to give the impression it was being held", strange
comments indeed from the very people who produce the tape and
should know it frame by frame?.

In all probibility the Tent Footage is a hoax AND it may well
have been put together by the people behind the Mail's article
BUT, the story THEY ARE TELLING seems to have serious problems
too.

Just my own opinion.

Neil.
