Dear Josh:

That is a highly interesting question, one I have pondered for
a long time.

Long before we used electricity to power trolley cars and light
our homes, it was used for telegraphy .. as far back as the
Civil War I believe. Radio was used for the same purpose
long before it found applications in radar, medicine, welding etc.
.

Here come UFOs, with unknown power sources and means
of propulsion far in advance of our present science and technology.
Suppose they are indeed able to manipulate gravity .. perhaps
creating artificial gravity waves. What a neat way to send
messages! That's only one possibility.

I might assume that the same and similar technologies would be
used for clear efficient and ( in our case ) completely inaccessible

communications channels, between craft, bases and "repeaters"
should they be needed.

This does not preclude the use of "older" technology ( radio,
microwave, lasers .. ) if and when they are more appropriate;
but I suggest that they would not rely on these media .. if only
to prevent us from listening in.

"Telepathy", at least in the ESP sense does not appeal to me
for these purposes. The human brain simply doesn't have the
power ( watts ) the frequency nor the proper antennas.

That's another interesting line of inquiry. If the FTs are some
advanced military technology, they should at least send out
conventional signals which should be detectable, if not
readable.

Best wishes
