This is of course correct and very interesting. But the
parallels can be applied to the UFO phenomenon as a whole, and
not only to the abductions. The french writer Bertrand Meheust
had showed this weird coincidence between the science-fiction
stories and the real UFO sightings in his book Science-fiction
et Soucoupes Volantes, in the late '70.This publication led a
number of searchers to think that the source of the phenomenon
was actually the SciFi culture - which is obviously a very quick
conclusion and cannot easily explain the materiality of a lot of
UFO manifestations.

Nevertheless, the parallels can be precisely established and the
similarity of the descriptions that can be found both in the
fiction and in the real world is an aspect of the phenomenon
that certainly should be accounted for, but first deeply

After all, the Titanic tragedy had been perfectly described in a
novel some twenty or thirty years earlier as well.

Have a good day
