You are probably correct about the writer failing to communicate
a point as well as it could be. I was attempting to point out
that, in my opinion, contrary to what had been stated by the
conference organizers, and based solely on the list of speakers,
that part of the question might not be addressed. They had
suggested it would be about what we know and how we know it. I
was suggesting that it might have a limited scope answering the
question (or questions) because of the participants invited and
we should just be aware of that.

Or maybe as a reverse way of promoting the conference because
most of the dialogue has been about the conference.
