Cooper believed >>>extraterrestrials were involved in a quiet takeover of the >>>world, and claimed to have seen briefing documents and photos of >>>aliens while serving in the military. He famously attacked noted >>>UFO personalities such as Whitley Strieber, Linda Moulton Howe >>>and Stanton Friedman as being CIA operatives bent on keeping the >>>truth from public knowledge. Later in his career, Cooper's >>>worldview became increasingly oppressive and paranoid. >>>from http://mactonnies.com/coverup.html >>...and jeez...what _ever_ could there have been to be paranoid >>about, then OR now? <g>. >Hi Alfred, <snip> >He was not only crazy, but he was dangerous Alfred. That's the report, the party line, and the general understanding. I don't know that myself. All I know is that, even from my less than privileged vantage point, he had plenty to be paranoid about, right, wrong or indifferent. Our freedoms erode as we speak, fundamentalists on both sides of the ideological fence caper and leap to substantive gains, and individuality (culture's savior) is on the endangered species list. I'm agitated, worried and otherwise concerned about it... I imagine others might take it a little bit more seriously... might even be driven crazy, and _made_ dangerous about it. All of that gets lost in the smirks and sneers of many who discount the possibility of conspiracy made all the more likely by a preponderance of ubiquitous sociopaths and the huge profits that attract them like flies to turning meat. Three men and one woman in a hundred will cut you and laugh while you're bleeding if there is enough personal gain in it for them. And they hide, John... you never know they're there... http://www.rense.com/general7/socio.htm >Maybe you ought to express your views in a separate thread. Perhaps - but remarking on a facet of the Cooper phenomenon in a thread named "Cooper" did seem abundantly appropriate. >Within the >context of this thread it only comes off as 'supportive' of this >maniac's point of view. Will that make me less popular than I am presently? <g>. I can't give a damn what other's think about me, John, not and continue to be true to an honorable self, a new sensibility, and a learned sensitivity... I'm going to continue to write my conscience, sometimes get honest feedback like I am from you right now... but live, learn, and grow. >And I'm certain that was not your intention. That's correct, I was just pointing out that Cooper had plenty to be excited about, forgetting for a moment that his expression of it might be something less than completely appealing... Consider the abolutionist John Brown. He was supposed to be dangerous and crazy too... It's rather like you and me, John Ford, and Lara Johnstone... we have plenty to be _angry_ about and can perhaps be criticized for our expressions regarding that anger. We have justification... it _might_ be that he did, too. We'll likely never know for sure, and that's certainly more fuel for _my_ anger. Yours too, perhaps, if you drew back from it a little.
