Well see, you're talking about lower common denominator 'we'
easily bamboozled by common fallacy and 'big' lies but believing
finally what they're programmed to believe, and given legitimate
reasons you admit, how far does one have to go to go 'overboard'
with their paranoia regarding that admittedly suspect
government. I think we've been restrained in our paranoia. Our
institutions don't seem to make that any better.

You know, for my money, science has been remiss in making itself
available to just the people you're talking about. It makes
itself dry as dust, fit only for the rarified palate that can
appreciate it, and has been quick to ridicule but slow to
investigate. A 'Cooper' sure knows how to exploit that...

This is forgetting the cult of science in general? Velikovski is still
ridiculed and wasn't another one of his more astonishing contentions
recently been given more validity?

People are looking for answers, period -- quick, slow, and in
between. They go with what seems to be working with them. I'm
one of those people.

 >Antidote?

That's just one word Mr. Hall, with all respect.

 >Clear thinking, careful data analysis, exposure of fraud and

I'd say _creative_ thinking (so did Maxwell), _comprehensive_
data analysis, and "judge not lest ye be judged." I'd also add
'Full Disclosure'. The truth though the heavens fall... I'm
betting it won't fall too far for most of us.
