Ah! Now we got two votes in, and only one dimpled chad, the "in
the flesh" bit.

I can certainly understand your reasoning!

I'm wondering however, if the critters seen are genuinely
biological as you, I, the dog and the cat are; or whether they
are robotic or cybernetic (not necessarily clanky-metallic mind
you) beings.

Automata like that might even be better suited to the purposes
of "exploring" this planet and everything on it, in gory detail,
if that is indeed the program.

Sufficiently advanced, the line between living and non-living
things could become quite blurred, as least as seen by us.
