So if it is a "direct quote" of Cernan and Cernan has not denied
it in 28 years, nor disavowed it, does it still count as useful
propaganda? What this sounds like is any potential 'Pro-UFO
quote' is considered useful propaganda. Of course to the
'debunking' crowd, any quote by Phil Klass, Menzel and Oberg
could also be considered useful propaganda.

So, what does that have to do with the subject matter of the
email on Cernan??

From everything I have seen and read, Jim screwed up, and won't
admit that he screwed up. Instead of saying "Houston, we have a
problem....." using this logic, the Astronauts should have said
something like "Well what about that problem with such and such
back in 1958..."

As to the alleged Von Braun quote, I couldn't care less. I don't
use the quote, and would be suspicious of any quotes both pro
and con on the Internet so it means nothing to me. Naturally if
it was a debunking quote, whether it was false or not, that
wouldn't matter to the debunking crowd... after all it can't be
so therefore it isn't.....

Cheers,

Robert
