Dear Friends,

The story of a UFO crash in the small city of Corguinho, state
of Mato Grosso do Sul, is completely false. It was created by a
very unreliable individual who has been caught in many other
tricks in the past. He is Urandir Fernandes Oliveira, who was
publicly exposed 5 years ago as probably the all-time most
successful 'UFO hoaxer' in the world. His co-hoaxer, in this new
'case', is Maria Lucia Vidal de Souza, who claims to be a UFO
researcher but isn't recognized as such by anybody. Both are
members of a suspicious Project Portal (Doorway), which has been
relentlessly criticized in Brazil for its fanatic behavior.
Urandir is the founder of it and a "Guru" to its members.

Project Portal has become the largest 'UFO Cult' in the world
today. Urandir and a few of his 'co-workers' have gathered a
considerable fortune in money and properties with their hoaxes.
The Brazilian UFO community has frequently exposed their actions
and national press has largely published negative material on
him, but he still continues his 'activities'. Major sources of
income to Urandir are the visits that tourists and interested
people nake to his Project Portal, which are very expensive. It
is estimated that over 50,000 people have been to the place, and
more than 200,000 have attended to his so-called 'Contact
Classes' in many parts of Brazil. He was caught many times using
laser pointers and special type of lights to fool tourists and
other people who go to his farm, near Corguinho, where his
project is based.

On March 2000, Urandir and Maria Lucia were arrested in Porto
Alegre for four days for selling parts of a farm that didn't
belong to them. Over 6,000 people, who were induced by him to
believe that they would be safe from Armageddon and rescued by
ETs if they move to the property, purchased the land. They never
saw a piece of it! Over the years Urandir has tried several
maneuvers to keep fooling people in lectures, workshops and
expensive lessons on 'How To Contact Ets'. He claims to be, but
was never recognized as, a 'contactee' in Brazil by the UFO
community and is now totally discredited. One of his many
stories is that he's an extraterrestrial living on Earth.
Urandir generally presents himself as an Mine Engineer, but his
formal education didn't reach secondary level (high school). His
last occupation was as a construction worker. He is not to be
taken seriously.

The supposed explosion took place on Saturday, 24 November,
23:00 h. The place is a very beautiful location near the city of
Corguinho, 85 km from Campo Grande, capital of Mato Grosso do
Sul, where I reside. I have been investigating Urandir and
Project Portal since 1995. In 1997 I exposed, nationwide, the
complete scheme to be a hoax and described its purpose, which is
to make money. My life has been threatened many times because of
that and local authorities have been informed. Last Monday, 26
November, I went to the farm where the 'events' took place. I
interviewed the witnesses and found several contradictions. What
they saw was nothing more than a ball of light at a distance of
200 m. It came from sky, descended close to ground but did not
touch it. Then it went up some 50 m and descended again, aagain
not touching the ground. At this point, it increased its size
and disappeared without any explosion, sound, marks on the
ground, nothing. There is no evidence of crash at all.

This kind of sighting is common in the area and in many other
places in Brazil. The main witness is Getulio Alves, the owner
of Fazenda Boqueir=E3o, the farm where it happened. Conveniently
for Urandir, this property is a neighbor of his Project Portal.
Getulio and Urandir are 'together' in this story. Getulio
actually saw something, as I described above, but it was Urandir,
with the sole purpose of attracting more people and tourists to
his scheduled "UFO-Christmas" events, that invented the story of
the crash. This fake news is now big in Brazil and reaching
overseas, unfortunately.

The fact that animals have been affected by the explosion is
also a fake. These animals had been injured for one entire week
before the 'happening' of 24 November. They are only two calves
that each had an eye injured. Nothing more. Also, there's no
confirmed sign of radioactivity, just as there is no sign on the
vegetation that indicates any crash. No tree was damaged, grass
burned, rocks disturbed. Local police have been to the place and
Sheriff Marco Antonio Balsamini confirmed that absolutely no
evidence of such a crash exists.

All the best,
