Well, er, no. Though often falsely credited to Sagan, the expression was in fact formulated by my late friend, sociologist of science Marcello Truzzi - who, by the way, subsequently rejected it as question-begging and meaningless. There is a valuable, insightful literature examining the relationship of science and anomalistics. Two of the finest books concerned with the matter are David J. Hufford's The Terror That Comes in the Night (University of Pennsylvania Press, 1983) and Henry H. Bauer's Science or Pseudoscience (University of Illinois, 2001). I recommend both to serious anomalists interested in this vital subject. Jerry Clark Listen to 'Strange Days... Indeed' - The PodCast See: http://www.virtuallystrange.net/ufo/sdi/program/
