In other words, no proposition is too outlandish, too evidence-
deficient, too contrary to mountainous bodies of established
knowledge, too unsupported by any actual scientists, to merit
anyone else's calling it "absurd" and "unscientific." All ideas,
however loopy on their face, merit respect and "debate." I guess
that explains why ufology remains, at best, frozen in place -
that's a generous assessment; a less generous one would place
it even farther out there on the fringes of irrelevance - after
60 years.

Thank you for validating my point: that in common with
pseudoscientific polemic everywhere, Gehrmanism cannot help
clothing itself in Galileo, Copernicus, and Newton. How about
Darwin and Einstein? Or will they have to wait till next time?

What we see here in the Gehrmanist approach is simply the waving
of hands and the ex cathedra pronouncement that all reasoned and
inconvenient facts and opinion are nonexistent. We who fail to
bug our eyes, drop our jaws, and nod vigorously are informed
that it is our responsibility to prove Gehrmanism wrong, not for
Gehrmanism - which after all is making the most ultra-of all
extraordinary claims and thus, in ordinary, rational discourse,
would have to bear the burden of proof, an immensely tall order
in this instance - to prove itself right.

You expect us to take you seriously when you allow it as self-
evident that Ed Gehrman ranks among the profoundest thinkers in
all of history. (And you demand we not laugh when it's noted
that he's writing not for the professional scientific literature
but for UFO Updates, just as - we are to believe apparently -
Galileo, Copernicus, and Newton would be doing if they were
alive today.) I have repeatedly challenged his apologists to
defend the proposition of Gehrman's earth-shattering genius,
since you can't think his views are correct or even reasonably
possible without also holding that view, but - here's a shock -
no takers, just (as above) whiners who, worse, dig themselves
into a deeper hole.

As for my contribution to finding answers, I offer a lifetime of
work, research, and publication in ufology and anomalistics, and
modesty will not permit me to quote my notices and list the
awards. And you?
