Hey! How dare these scientists keep coming up with discoveries
that rewrite the history books!

Everyone knows our scientists and our pseudo-intellectuals know
everything there is about everything and if they say it can't be
done it can't be done!

All kidding aside, experiments like this have been highlighted
before and it's good to see more research done.

It may just be semantics that breaking the speed of light may
merely be breaking the slowness of distance instead. If photons
can appear at a point instantaneous regardless of distance then
I don't think it traveled through space but instead bypassed it.

So if we can bypass the restrictions of space it's like that
story where getting from europe to the americas by walking is
impossible. So you build a boat and you bypass the drowning
thing. You want to go faster you build an airplane you bypass
the water thing. We're now building big scramjets that will
cover the distance in minutes by bypassing the atmosphere

For fun's sake it sounds like the lyrics to musician George
Clinton's songs about the cosmos.
