I think that crop circles are a perfectly legitimate topic for
serious study. So are the Loch Ness monster and ESP, but they
hardly ever come up on this list.

>And when I said 'stick to ufology' I was directing that to Don

Your post made broad reference to "you guys"... apparently you
had intended to be more specific.

In any case, if Don were posting about UFOs on a Crop Circle
UpDates List, would it ever make sense for him to tell them,
"stick to crop circle-ology"? It certainly begs the reply, "Um,
we _were_".

>And I've also never said that I think the two phenomena are

I'll accept that you've never said that. So then I'll ask you:
do you think these phenomena are related? If not, why would you
be here discussing it?

I hope you will not interpret my comments as dismissive of your
area of study or the crop circle phenomena in general. I find
the subject quite interesting, although, like UFOs, it is
heavily polluted with hoaxes.

I do find irksome, however, the fury and indignation here (not
this thread specifically, but UFO UpDates in general) on
subjects that many would consider peripheral, if not utterly
off-topic. Indeed, the further it strays, the more likely it
seems to produce warring camps and tortured martyrs.
