I would suggest that there are very few producers who really
care about the truth, as such. They are telling a story and
usually begin a project with a clear picture of how it will come
out. In other words, they're usually looking for specific
statements from researchers and will ask questions until they
get enough responses to pull out the information they need.

Another problem we have to deal with is the archive of
interviews that many producers keep on file. I've seen programs
that have Stanton Friendman on them that he wasn't even aware
of, but they were using old material that he had previously
signed a release for and they were using the pieces they wanted.

If you can find a good Producer that is looking to expose the
truth, then go for it. But there are enough people to interview
on the subject that they really don't need to rely on "good"
researchers who get frustrated with their treatment. Richard
Hall and others have sworn off of television documentaries
because they have been 'used' by the producers and a different
set of faces is now beginning to appear.

While this is a serious study for most of us, it's little more
than entertainment to the media. We would like it to be
different, but that's just not the case, IMO.
