No Nigel, but believe there are somewhat earlier sightings where
witnesses also used the `saucer' or flat dish pan words or
others meaning a flattish, circular object with a raised center.

And a much earlier age described sightings of flying `shields',
probably because they didn't yet have saucers in their kitchens
but were well aware of other circular, flattish objects with
raised centers - soldiers' shields.
