That is, if this hypothetical pre-human civilistion had followed
the same technological evolutionary path as we do - and, since
this pre-human civilisation is hypothetical, we don't know. We
could speculate that this civilisation had followed a different
evolutionary technological path which in the course of a
hypothetical timespan of thousands of years, would have yielded
a radically different technology. Perhaps one that, given our
current culture, would seem like magic to us.

However, since we do not know if there were worlds before our
own, this discussion - as well as the ETH debate which is
equally hypothetical - is more at home in those realms which in
themselves have evolved into using different sets of tools for
establishing facts: esoterism.

In the 19th and early 20th century theosophical texts one
encounters an abundance of references to advanced, pre-human
civilisations, whether Atlantis, Lemuria or Mu, with detailed
descriptions of advanced technologies, flying machines, wireless
energy sources, interplanetary travel and so forth.

In that sense any opinion on UFOs as hard, technological
constructs is severely marred by two things: our inability to
envision radically different technolgies that fall outside our
evolutionary path and scope - as witnessed by the discussion
above - and our limitations in knowledge as to any facts about
extraterrestrial civilisations. To my knowledge we still have no
evidence at all for the existence of such an extraterrestrial
