The sighting occurred near Harmon Field, Newfoundland. Two other persons also saw the trail which remained in the sky for about an hour and was photographed by another PAA employee. The resulting photographs support Mr. Woodruff's observation as far as the sky cleavage is concerned. (See Figs, 5 and 6.)" My guess is the holes are the result of the UFO's atmospheric control system used to prevent shock wave and reduce friction, proposed by many people scientists and engineers, such as Hermann Oberth, Paul Hill, and James McCampbell. McCampbell thought microwaves focused in front of the craft were at work, used to push the air aside. Intense microwave energy would vaporize water vapor in front of the craft, causing a temporary hole. Perhaps an additional vortex ring created as the craft rushed through would stablize the hole for several minutes. David Rudiak
