Oberg doesn't need any help from you to defend himself. Do you
seriously think he's going to dry up and blow away because we
argue with him?

If you are defending Joe Nickell then perhaps you should make
application to the Skeptical Inquirer bunch because their need
for credibility grows with each passing month. No one on this
List has made pronouncements from the gitgo that the O'Hare
object was an extraterrestrial craft but Oberg and Nickell have
declared it to be of no consequence... didn't happen... was
nothing, with no evidence whatsoever to support it.

There are about a dozen people working on this, off-List, trying
to resolve it, attempting to get the witnesses to come forward
and talk and either go on record and exercise their legal right
to speak freely about this episode. United has told them to shut
up and that is not legal. Oberg and Nickell have knee-jerked and
uninformed but denigrating responses, further buttressing the
witnesses reluctance to come forward or risk censure and
possibly the loss of their jobs.

Joe Nickell has no credentials and Jim Oberg was a middle-line
engineer with NASA 20 years ago. Dick Haines on the other hand
was a scientist at NASA for thirty years and chief scientist for
a good part of that. He's got 6 pages on him in Who's Who In
Science... but he never gets asked even though he's an expert in
this area and far more knowledgeable than Oberg or Nickell will
ever be.

How is that productive?

Your need to have your problem with ET resolved by the community
- and sniping at same - for whatever personal reasons is getting
tiresome and is unproductive as well.

If you want to get pissed with someone of something then go
after your government... not us. We do the best we can under the
circumstances. Spend your time more productively rather than
supporting spur of the moment skeptics.
