I am sorry I didn't make it clear. I didn't mean to imply aliens
are using fossil fuels, only that more advanced doesn't
necessarily mean less energy is used.

My favorite for Earth Excursion Modules is a magnetoaerodynamic
propulsiopn system similar to the electromagnetic submarine
successfully operated in the mid 1960s by Dr. Way of
Wesinghouse, and later a Japanese submarine using
superconducting magnets.One replaces seawater, an electrically
Conducting fluid with ionized air.

It is not clear how this would solve the world's energy

Also if some Earthlings have successeded in doing this, where is
the military utilization?
