Dick, and the List,

Thank you for this intesting account.

I also listened to Richard Farley, who was a speaker at the
recent X Conference, in September near Washington.

Apparently, he said about the same things, especially at the
last panel. As I said already on this list, he made very rude,
loud and unpleasant critiques of several other participants,
accusing them of being ignorant of the real, dangerous world we
live in, and playing with fire.

Yes, he also hinted that Roswell was a case of horrible human
experiments.

This idea instantly rang a bell to me, and to Don Schmitt who
was sitting next to me, so that we exchanged a litle smile.
Remember: it sounds like the story developped by Nick Redfern in
his fantastic book Body Snatchers in the Desert, which was hotly
debated on this list in 2005.

BTW, this story of horrible experiments appeared also in a novel
of Jacques Vallee published at the end of the same year in
France (and presumably in English at about the same time).
Curious, isn't it?

I am not sure, Dick, that your description of Farley is quite
adequate, because he seems to fit better with some of the
disinformation themes of today.

Let's also recall here that Farley and Vallee are known to have
opposed, in 1994, the Rockefeller initiative to interest Dr
Gibbons, the scientific adviser of President Clinton, not only
to UFOs, but more precisely to the Roswell case.

As for the accusations that people who dare to talk about UFO
secrecy are the real disinformers, that's precisely the main
theme of a new book in French by sociologist - ufologist Pierre
Lagrange, called: What THEY don't want you to know. And what is
it, according to Lagrange, that the real disinformers don't want
the people to know? That there are no UFO secrets!
