I think I recall this sighting. Thanks for recalling it to my
attention. Makes me think of the New Zealand sightings of Dec.
31, 1978 which were initially attributed to Venus. (Then they
found out that the plane had landed before Venus was rising.)

It appears that McGaha is now the 'skeptic of choice', said
position having been left empty with the passing of Philip J.
Klass. OF course, we'll see a lot of Shirmer, too, I suppose.
