Since U.S. politicians are notorious poll watchers, perhaps it
is time to commission a large-scale public poll by a respected
pollster. The central question would be:

If the U.S. Government proposed the establishment of a public-
private commission to receive and analyze UFO reports from
highly credible witnesses and to promote an international
exchange of information with other governments, would you favor
or oppose the use of taxpayer dollars to support such a program?

If the response mirrored the Netscape/AOL poll results, we might
have some powerful ammunition for action by the government along
the lines suggested by the international panel on Monday.
