Good Mother of all Creation! Where did this 'journalist' get
these factoids! Perhaps from another planet, given that there are
so many UFO sightings in Bergen County? I wouldn't mind adding a
volunteer to my staff, but Mr. Sodderstrom doesn't seem to
exhibit the adherence to facts that one traditionally likes to
see in investigators... of _any_ stripe!

I just telephoned The Hudson Reporter - 201-798-7800 - and was
told that Jim Hague is a freelance writer for the paper, and
they could not provide me with his telephone number.

Interesting... a journalist who appears to be hermetically
sealed off from his environment. Am I surprised by this? If I
had written that article, I would have cancelled my phone and
internet service, and retired to Siberia.

Then, I requested that the receptionist connect me with the
editor of the newspaper, which she did. I spoke with Karen, the
Editor, who seemed unfazed by the fact that one of her writers
had distorted fact, to the extent that the truth of the matter
at hand was almost unrecognizable. She stated that if the
editorial staff spent its day calling sources, nothing would get
published at all!

My observation, over now 41 years of UFO investigation, has been
that smaller, local and regional, newspapers generally do a much
better job of investigating, and reporting on, seemingly UFO-
related events. The Hudson Reporter seems to be a clear
exception to the rule.

For the record, Marc Sodderstrom neither works for NUFORC, nor
speaks on its behalf. Moreover, I've just searched both our
e-mail archives, as well as our database of reports, and I find
no reference to the gentleman. Hence, I conclude that he must be
an 'undocumented' spokesman for that organization...

NUFORC has 51 cases filed and posted for Bergen County, NJ, not
a number of reports that is significantly different from those
of other counties in New Jersey. I conclude that the other,
alleged, 726 reports must have come from the CUFOS files...

God Help Us...and spare us from members of the 'press'.
