The Blue Book Archive shows that back in 1952 professional astronomers were still sighting UFOs but were coming under pressure not to report them: http://tinyurl.com/fjx9c and here's Hynek admitting 'Astronomers do see UFOs': http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_kDr3sRU6kw Where he said a Stanford questionnaire of all members of American Astronomical Society found a majority wanted UFO investigation - and that many had sightings (unreported?).
