It's a bit early for practical applications! The effect - if
real and truly novel - would have to be understood theoretically
first, and who knows how that would turn out? But if the
remaining possible conventional loopholes in the experimental
result can't be closed, and if a theoretical FTL interpretation
then emerges, no doubt people will be queueing up with nifty
ideas. Then you can start filing patents.
