The effect - if real and truly novel - would have to be understood theoretically first, and who knows how that would turn out? But if the remaining possible conventional loopholes in the experimental result can't be closed, and if a theoretical FTL interpretation then emerges, no doubt people will be queueing up with nifty ideas.
