Right Ed, that is interesting. There are several instances noticed over the years where an individual in a location with lots of people, has a close and maybe even spectacular sighting which no-one else in that busy area can see. For instance I recall a case where a chap walking over one of London's bridges saw something nearby in the sky which shocked him for two reasons: i) it was very strange, and ii) none of the hundreds of people around him seemed to notice it. Of course, with only sparse details provided by a hesitant and maybe `shell-shocked' witness, it's maybe hard to decide which was being `selective' - the observer or the phenomenon.
