Unidentified Flying Object Kills Mississauga Motorist

The Toronto Sun

Thursday, September 01, 2011 05:31 PM EDT

To: Mr. Doucette and SUN Management

[This letter has been published on the internet internationally
and filed with Letters to the Editor at the Toronto SUN]

This tragic event is extremely saddening and unfortunate. Our
condolences are extended to the family of the victim. There is no
way to minimize or describe the tragic nature of this occurrence
be it by misadventure or a reckless perpetrator.

However Mr. Doucette's article, by using a flippant title
reference to an 'unidentified flying object' being responsible
reeks of a despicable double-entendre for which Mr. Doucette,
along with his editor should be disciplined.

Using such a title alluding to a UFO to capture a reader's
interest is poor journalism. Such weak journalism has become the
hallmark of the Toronto SUN. The phenomenon of UFOs is
misunderstood well enough without this kind of oblique ridicule
that not only makes light of some's death but detracts from the
truth of what is going on in our skies and the government secrecy

Why make light of a family's tragic loss Mr. Doucette? Shame -
shame on you and the SUN for publishing such invective.

We call on everyone reading this letter to demand that the SUN:

1. Publish a retraction as well as its plan to discipline Mr.
Doucette and the editor responsible.

2. Place an apology to the family on your front page - tomorrow.

3. Offer the family recompense for a funeral that will be sad
enough without the SUN's open and pitiful mockery of his death.

People of good conscience and the family cannot and must not
accept this morally degenerative type of journalism for which
the SUN and its owners SUN MEDIA and QUEBECOR are becoming

By these standards we expect the SUN will charge the family for
an obituary notice.
