To put that in context, this is the Ashokan Reservoir area I'm
referring to, with West Shokan being in the upper left (obscured
by the strut), and the other areas having the mystery plane
problem in a semi-circle around the reddish area of the
reservoir, and further north and west. I'd say this viewpoint is
looking toward the northwest.

I've occasionally heard people say they know people who have had
UFO sightings in the  Ashokan Reservoir area, but I don't think
I've ever come across one that has been properly reported.
