The _image_ certainly has structure, and it does rotate a little, as you say. But I tend to think this structure belongs to something in the optical train or the electronics rather than to the object itself. I could be wrong, but to me it resembles a diffraction pattern, as if there was a fine grating in front of the lens. The slow drift of the source in the un-zoomed view is suggestive of an astronomical object IMO. But if so I'd like to know exactly what causes the "diffraction" effect.
