Like my friend Bill Chalker, I, too, concede a degree of bias;
in my case, that's because I wrote the foreword. Nonetheless, I
hesitate not a moment to pronounce this among the most
significant UFO books ever written. I'd place it in the top 10,
at least of works written in English.

It's a monument to sober, meticulous scholarship in a field
where such is all too rare. It supersedes any number of books
that promote speculation and conspiracy theory - or, at the
other end, blanket denial - in place of the documentable
evidence, which makes for a fascinating story in itself.

When I read the book in galleys, I was struck by how much it
told me I hadn't known or appreciated. And I thought I knew this
