Nothing in the history of the UFO controversy, about which I know something having written extensively about it, supports the sort of wishful thinking expressed above, simply a recitation of worn debunker talking points and no more. In reality, the most puzzling cases have withstood withering examination. And yes, one can always find "alternate explanations" even if they don't stand up to more sober analysis.
