I have always thought that Sanderson tried to take UFO research
in a valid direction. His opinion got lost in the 'nuts and
bolts' approach to the research and I think that was a mistake.

Also, Kay Wilson, in her e-mail of yesterday, challenged the
depiction of 19th century encounters with "alien creatures" and
wondered whether that depiction had anything to do with modern
encounters.

My opinion is that, based on Sanderson's approach, entities that
interact with humans seems to depend on the encounter.
Individuals provide different descriptions of the encountered
entities. There doesn't seem to be one 'standard' model. Witness
the case report from 1955.
