When one considers that electrons in a wire move so slowly that a caterpillar easily outruns them (e.g. ~8 cm/hour), it is obvious to me that there must be a simple way to increase the velocity by factors of many thousands. That, in turn, would cause extremely high *effective* current (quantity of charge passing a point per unit time,) and that in turn would result in extremely high magnetic (H) fields, when the flow is constrained to move in a circle. So high, that the possibility of interacting with the Earth's magnetic field comes to mind, possibly pointing to a propulsion system other than pushing down air or heated rocket exhaust.
